Job Description:
The position will help navigate water and groundwater management within the Region to protect and benefit fish and wildlife species.
Job Responsibilities:
- Water Rights and Groundwater Planning Coordination and Review: Serve as regional point person on water rights and groundwater management dealing with sensitive fish and wildlife species and habitats.
- Instream Flow Technical Coordination: Serve as an instream flow technical liaison, coordinating within Water Program and across Region Programs and Department Branches on flow-related projects, permitting, and environmental review.
- Department, Agency, and Other Coordination: Closely coordinate activities and recommendations within the Water Program, Habitat Conservation Program, and North Central Region; communicate and coordinate on water rights, groundwater, and flow-related activities across Regions, Branches, and partner agencies and stakeholders.
Job Requirements:
- Occasional field work and site visits require an ability to negotiate rough and unstable terrain, conduct physically demanding work, and work long hours as needed.
- Occasional overnight travel may be required.
- The position may require the incumbent to wear a uniform identifying the employee as CDFW staff.
- Must have a valid California Driver’s License.
- Must be able to safely operate a 4×4 motor vehicle and be prepared to travel using a state vehicle.
