Barclays Bank Jobs – Assurance Team Lead

Job Description:

As a Barclays Configuration Assurance Team Lead you will provide technical leadership to a new team who are responsible for the development, maintenance and day to day usage of the strategic automation platform. Your team is responsible for using the automation platform to monitor and remediate network configurations and to perform changes on the network. The team will also run as a network DevOps function.

Job Responsibilities:

• Working with the Head of Network Automation and the Automation Product Manager to schedule configuration and bulk change release cycles
• Providing technical leadership to the Compliance Assurance Team on both networking and automation best practices
• Taking accountability for ensuring that network configuration compliance KRIs are met
• Providing Service management duties to ensure that full reporting is delivered and work stack is prioritised to deliver configuration compliance and automation
• Working with senior stakeholders in engineering to ensure there is a pipeline of standardisation delivered to the automation team
• Working with senior stakeholders in Operations to ensure smooth scheduling of changes to the networks and to ensure that Operational representation is given

Job Requirements:

• Proven experience of working with Python, Perl, Django, PostgreSQL and experience of working with infrastructure automation tools like Ansible and Chef
• Proven experience of working with AWS services such as – EC2, Elastic Beanstalk, RDS, ELB, Secrets Manager, etc and WSGIs and NGINX/Apache for hosting web applications
• Excellent working knowledge of Linux systems in terms of daemons, services, file system, rpm packages and excellent working knowledge of GIT, Jenkins, and other DevOps tools
• Ability to develop programs using REST API to a controller northbound interface would be ideal
• Strong experience with network devices such as NSX, Routers. Switches, load balancers, firewalls, proxies, DNS servers, Wireless Controllers and AP, Voice Gateways, WAN links

Qualification & Experience:

• Experience in operating in a Scrum/Agile/SDLC environment would be beneficial
• Experience of having worked with CMDB platforms and an understanding of Enterprise level network management platforms would be helpful
