Job Description:

Our PRESTO Finance Operations Department is seeking one Financial Operations Analyst, reporting to Manager, Financial Reconciliations & Exceptions. This position performs a variety of tasks to support the PRESTO Finance Operations’ Reconciliation and Exception team , including general ledger account reconciliation, exception transaction analysis and settlement, month-end/year-end closing activities, and ad-hoc financial analysis.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Perform daily, weekly and monthly reconciliation and control points, to ensure funds are balanced and settled with customer and transit agencies accurately; create general ledger adjustments or manual settlements as required.
  • Analyze, investigate, uncover and resolve process exceptions, out-of-balance situations, and other operational finance incidents, as required and follow up to ensure timely and accurate resolution of the exceptions
  • Ensure financial processes and reconciliations are aligned with established procedures and controls and providing recommendations for improvements.
  • Analyze and/or reconcile various internal and external reports to ensure the completeness and integrity of the integrated reports (e.g., data extracts, financial system reports, third party reports).
  • Participate in month-end and year-end activities including General Ledger account reconciliation, financial reports reconciliation and journal entries preparation
  • Support annual audit by providing samples/evidence by the deadline upon request.
  • Collaborate and interact with internal and/or external business partners and transit agencies, including regular reporting, and responding to inquiries and information requests.

Job Requirements:

  • Advanced proficiency in MS Excel, with strong working knowledge of MS Access, MS PowerPoint, MS Visio, MS SQL Server, and other MS Office software.
  • Experience with MS Dynamics would be an asset.
  • Strong time management, organizational and analytical skills, and proven organizational skills with the ability to multi-task and take direction from or work with multiple parties in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Designated as or pursuing a designation as a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) or related accreditation would be considered an asset.
  • Completion of a diploma in Business, Finance, Accounting or a related discipline or any combination of education, training and experience deemed equivalent.
  • Experience working with large sets of data demonstrated by proficiency with MS Excel and strong working knowledge of MS SQL Server.
  • Two (2) years of related experience in a financial services or payment industry performing reconciliation, booking journals to the general ledger and month-end within an accounting department.
