Job Responsibilities:

  • Drives interaction and relationship with Investor Relations and Policy teams as required
  • Key member of the PRA and UK Regulatory Reporting team
  • Work with stakeholders within Finance and beyond to implement changes to regulatory policy and standards, deal with ad-hoc requirements, quantitative impact studies / consultations
  • Responsible for the controls over the reporting processes and ensuring that control design is in line with HSBC’s control framework and complies with all requirements (such as SOX).
  • The role holder will be a key member of the Finance Operations team and participate various committees including key regulatory changes, working with FCD to deliver back log system functionalities, controls committee forums
  • Accountabilities for Business, Customers and Stakeholders
  • Key stakeholder in the interpretation of new requirements by policy teams.
  • Support the final sign-off of reporting by the Regional Financial Controller and other accountable stakeholders (such as ALCM).
  • Works to ensure that the outputs are of a high quality, reflecting accepted regulatory policy and standards with transparent and robust control procedures that withstand internal and external scrutiny
  • The delivery of analyses and reporting to the PRA covering regulatory, liquidity and financial returns, ensuring accuracy, and timeliness; including ‘Ad Hoc’ regulator requests
  • The delivery of Regulatory MI for internal consumption within the Group/Bank and across the Global Businesses
  • Maintain strong collaborative working relationship across Group / HBUK Functions
  • End-to-end process ownership, management of preparation and assurance of all BAU reporting requirements (internal and external) including local consolidated statutory IFRS/local GAAP financial statements (Annual Report & Accounts and Interim Report), local regulatory reporting, management and liquidity reporting, plus submissions into the HSBC Group reporting processes.
  • Accurate and timely External Reporting to the market that drives shareholder, analyst and business partner views of HSBC UK.
  • Support the overall performance of the team to ensure respond commercially in meeting the challenges of internal and external demands
  • Develop and maintain relationships with the HBUK finance management as required to deliver the reporting
  • Works closely with Data Operations for data issue remediation and the development of new reporting.
  • Works jointly to resolve queries from Insights & Advisory and senior stakeholders

Job Requirements:

  • Qualified accountant ( CA/ICWA) or MBA Finance from a reputed institute with 12-15 yrs. or M.com or equivalent degree with experience in Reporting/ Analysis
  • Hands-on experience of Regulatory/liquidity/financial reporting process
  • Ability to communicate complex ideas (e.g. relating to transactions/adoption of policies) in a simple manner to a global audience
  • Understanding of control frameworks and how to implement effective controls in practice.
  • Experience that demonstrates ability to learn and apply complex/technical rules/frameworks, for example Basel 2, product/model valuation etc
  • Strong written and oral communicate skills (English plus local language of country where the role is located).
  • Ability to deal with and analyse unstructured problems and queries and to question and challenge existing procedures.
  • Good understanding of financial products and how they impact reporting requirement, and more generically the banking business, balance sheet and P&L.
  • Ability to develop effective working relationships with stakeholders of different seniority and geographical location
