Job Description:

We are recruiting for a System Safety Engineer to join our team in Doncaster on a permanent, full-time basis. The preferred candidate will ideally have demonstrable experience performing System Safety engineering tasks in accordance with SAE ARP 4761, MIL-STD-882, or DEF STAN 00-56.

Job Responsibilities:

• Performing detailed Safety analyses using analysis techniques such as Hazard Assessment, Fault Tree Analysis, Functional Failure Analysis and Development Assurance Level Assignment
• Provide technical leadership of the System Safety engineering activities
• Working across a range of electrical power and mission avionic system designs on both civil and military aircraft
• Lead projects to a successful outcome by setting the Safety plan, coordinating Safety support with internal and external customers, influencing designs, driving proactive Safety team engagement, and resolving technical issues
• Engaging with design engineering team to inform design of large and small aircraft mission system design changes to ensure that safety is designed in

Job Requirements:

• A relevant Engineering Degree or equivalent experience
• Knowledge and Understanding of Reliability Engineering function and how its outputs (e.g. Reliability Prediction and FMEA) integrate with the safety analyses
• Knowledge of the following: ARP4754A, RTCA DO-178B/C and RTCA DO-254
• Ability to conduct detailed Safety analyses of complex Systems
• Knowledge/Experience of IEC 61508 and other safety methodologies
• Aviation experience highly desirable with knowledge of EASA Part 21J and G and/or UK CAA BCAR and/or DAOS. We will consider applicants who have experience in other regulated environments that are able to demonstrate the ability to transfer their skills.
