Job Description:

AC Transit is actively searching for candidates for the position of Learning & Development Supervisor. This position develops and implements District wide talent development programs and targeted professional development courses in order to further the District’s organizational goals.

Job Responsibilities:

• Administers the activities of the Learning and Development unit of the Human Resources Department.
• Develops and implements policies, procedures, and goals for the assigned unit to ensure compliance with applicable District standards and legal requirements, alignment and collaboration with other department units, and adherence to overall department objectives.
• Writes reports and provides detailed statistical and data analysis related to the assigned unit or special assignment.
• Works closely with other units of the Department, and other District staff to ensure compliance with all legal requirements.
• Works with other District departments to formulate and track professional development and performance management goal.
• Researches new theories and technological progress in content areas relevant to District departments, and determines methods and procedures appropriate for each area.
• Coordinates with educational institutions and outside organizations to provide training courses, and administers the delivery and scheduling of programs provided by external vendors.
• Designs publications and handouts for promotion of courses, and for use as instructional aids.
• Coordinates the necessary staffing and materials for required courses, as well as the scheduling of participants and facilities.
• Investigates and analyzes matters of concern to District staff, related to the activities of the Learning and Development unit.
• Participates in the preparation of the budget for the unit; and monitors and controls expenditures.

Job Requirements:

Equivalent to a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Industrial/Organizational Psychology, Organizational Development, Training and Development, Public Administration, or a related field, from an accredited college or university.
