That’s why we’re on the lookout for a passionate Corporate Responsibility Assistant to join the Corporate Responsibility Communities Team at our Head Office in Atherstone.

As a Corporate Responsibility Assistant, you will have a drive for implementing change at every level and in every part of the business. You’ll be on the front line, delivering new and exciting initiatives, changing the way the organisation operates. This role plays a crucial part in the development and delivery of Aldi’s food waste reduction strategy.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Day to day management of the UK food redistribution programme with Neighbourly, ensuring that surplus food from Aldi stores is redistributed to local causes.
  • Key liaison with operational regional waste leads to ensure we reach the 75% compliance target with the Neighbourly programme.
  • Annual food waste reporting, and liaison with external auditors to assure the data.
  • Quarterly food waste reporting and drafting Managing Director memos.
  • Support the manager in building and managing relationships with independent third parties, such as WRAP, to ensure consistency across the industry.
  • Act as liaison point regarding waste-related issues.
  • Key point of contact for our national operational waste contract.
  • Continuously review Aldi’s operational waste programme to improve environmental performance.
  • Drafting internal comms materials, to ensure the effective communication of our strategy,
  • Liaison with Comms and Marketing to support campaigns.
  • Proactively develop own knowledge and understanding of topics, demonstrating initiative and suggesting ways of improving current ways of working.
  • Carry out research and media monitoring for trends and competitor activity.
  • Provide general administration to the Communities Manager including word processing, data entry, reporting, writing and preparation of presentations.
  • Provide holiday cover for the Charities Assistant.

Job Requirements:

  • 5 GCSEs A to C.
  • Interest in corporate responsibility/environment/food waste.
  • Environmental related qualifications.
  • Previous experience within a relevant field.
  • Advanced Word, Excel and PowerPoint skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Project and event management skills.
  • Experience in writing standard processes and/or procedures for others.
  • Confidence with data analysis, reading and understanding data and reporting.
  • Confident, professional and articulate.
  • Ability to liaise and build relationships with people at all levels.
  • High level of attention to detail and time management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously.
  • Ability to work and deliver under own initiative.
  • Pro-active and able to prioritise effectively.
  • Calm under pressure.
