Job Description:

As a Barclays Developer – Avaloq, you will be responsible for the delivery of quality solutions across multiple software development projects. You will be part of the Application Development team which predominantly supports the International Private Bank business and operations teams situated in Europe, East Asia, and the Middle East. This is an exciting opportunity to work with the latest Avaloq technology (versions 4.9) and its satellite interfaces.

Job Responsibilities:

• Using agreed standards and tools to achieve well-engineered results which follow the agreed implementation level software architectures
• Creating and amending programmes in accordance with the design following relevant code management procedures and applying agreed coding standards
• Planning, designing and conducting tests of programs as well as correcting errors and re-testing to deliver an error-free product
• Documenting all work in accordance with agreed standards and with re-use in mind as well as conducting reviews of supplied specifications with others as necessary
• Building an understanding of software delivery process and of technology developments relevant to own team/programme
• Building a good understanding of the various stages of software development, enhancements, and support, and acting as a point of reference for technical queries
• Assisting with the implementation of operational objectives for relevant team/programme
• Focusing on Software Design, Programming and Unit Testing, designing programmes / programme modifications from supplied requirements and design specifications

Job Requirements:

• Proven experience with Avaloq and Finance/Banking would be an asset
• Demonstrable experience with Oracle, PL/SQL. Java, Unix scripting, Kubernete/OpenShift, docker, Apache Kafka
• Excellent command of the English language with strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively
• Excellent overall knowledge of Development and Project Methodologies

Qualification & Experience:

• Education to a degree level or an equivalent professional accreditation is desirable
