Job Description:

As a Trade floor support (TFS) analyst, you will be the touch point between the business and the rest of the technology functions. The Trading Desks are the team’s primary customers, through which billions of pounds’ worth of contracts are traded every day. The volume and vast size of these transactions makes the Trade Floor a high pressure environment and accordingly the Traders rely heavily on IT to be effective in executing the trade life cycle, from pricing and executing trades, to capturing them in Barclay’s booking systems, representing the risk in a stable, reliable and accurate manner and settling with our counterparties. As a team TFS plays a pivotal role in the running and organization for all aspects of technology for front office users, with a focus on trade capture and risk applications across both the FX and Rates businesses.

Job Responsibilities:

  • The role carries responsibility for the provision of high quality, bespoke support of the Rates Trading platforms
  • This role encompasses technical support, continuous service improvement, infrastructure architecture and project management.
  • Engaging with application owners to provide effective issue and problem management and rapid resolution.
  • Proactive management of business critical real-time trading systems, identifying issues and potential problem areas. Track outstanding issues and work with the appropriate group to achieve resolution of them.
  • Engagement with service owners and development teams to review planned changes that may impact application functionality or availability to Front Office users.
  • Significant level of business engagement to ensure that trading systems are maintained and enhanced to meet current and ongoing control standards including data protection and security, delivery of trading information for regulatory reporting etc.
  • The successful candidate will be based in Paris and form part of a virtual team, supporting both Traders across Barclays Europe locations and will provide support to the Global Rates Trade Floor support team.

Job Requirements:

  • Be accountable and represent Technology on issues and escalations, respond to traders, sales people, client service groups or Operations teams for any issues or queries around functionality, usage and service quality
  • Support business users on general IT issues by involving the right team or coordinating with other regional teams, and facilitating engagement through partnership with other Technology Managers
  • Collaborate strongly and negotiate with vendor support teams and other third party groups within the organization, and negotiate and reach alignment with all stakeholders on a plan, and then collaborate with local management and lead through its execution
  • Be able to investigate trader issues based on limited information
  • Ability to work in shifts to cover the core hours of the trading desks within Europe.
  • Able to utilise core technical skill and apply to a variety of trading platforms, technologies and operating platforms

Qualification & Experience:

  • Degree in an IT or Mathematics related discipline.
