Job Description:

Reclamation is seeking a career professional looking for an opportunity to capitalize on his or her expertise as a Supervisory Contract Specialist. You can make a difference in the West by assisting in meeting increasing water demands while protecting the environment.

Job Responsibilities:

Provides expert acquisition support and guidance to Bureau of Reclamation customers for a wide range of highly complex
contracting types and methods and performs the full range of pre-award and post-award functions for highly complex contracting
types Efficiently process work while maintaining necessary quality levels. Agile and innovative in providing acquisition
support from the time a need is identified through contract closeout to which may include unprecedented problems.
Awarding and administering of contracts will include Bureau of Reclamation wide strategic sourcing contracts.

-Supervises and mentors a team of contract specialists and a procurement technician. Responsible for driving employee
engagement to ensure great customer service and retention of acquisition professionals. Motivates, influences and challenges
employees to improve their skills for the benefit of the organization and success of its mission.

-Builds collaborative partnerships and customer alliances with internal and externa customers that facilitate the Bureau’s
mission accomplishment. Is engaged with customers and applies practices and principles of good customer service, manages
customer conflicts/issues and demonstrates collaborative competencies. Communicates effective and proactively (written,
oral and interpersonal) with customers and other organizations that encourages collaboration.

-Recognizes or uses correct English grammar, punctuation, and spelling; communicates information (for example, facts, ideas, or
messages) in a succinct and organized manner; produces written information, which may include technical material that is
appropriate for the intended audience.

Job Requirements:

You must be a U.S. Citizen or U.S. National.
You must be suitable for federal employment, determined by a background investigation.

Completion of all mandatory training prescribed by the head of the agency for progression to GS-13 or higher level contracting positions, including at least 4-years experience in contracting or related positions. At least 1 year of that experience must have been specialized experience at or equivalent to work at the next lower level of the position, and must have provided the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the work of the position.
