As the successful candidate, you will assist in managing digital products and services for consumers and commercial customers, as well as develop and manage approved product modifications, product development, and user experience/interface changes. This entails developing specific business and functional requirements for the change and managing to required operating budgets. Your knowledge and experience with the Agile development process, Scrum framework and practices will be an asset to you in this role.
You will engage and work with other corporate functions (e.g., operating and financial systems, customer support, sales and communications support programs) to ensure overall corporate capacity to introduce product upgrades or user interface upgrades, and work with the technology support organization(s) to ensure speedy time to market.
The Assistant Product Manager, Digital Products participates in managing digital products, solutions, and services to ensure that each generates maximum financial contribution while satisfying market needs and the Corporation’s service mandate.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Participates in the planning, development, and monitoring of the Corporation’s digital products, solutions modifications, new product/solutions development, and pricing strategies to achieve corporate targets for revenue, volume, market share, cost containment and reduction, and net financial contribution for products, solutions and services. Recommends required corrective actions to be initiated by the responsible corporate functions as required.
  • Meets with major customers and national customer associations to gain customer feedback regarding the need for product/solution improvements and/or the impact of possible changes to product/solutions and pricing.
  • Assesses proposed initiatives and plans of all corporate functions and the Divisions to determine their acceptability and impact regarding the Corporation’s product/solutions strategies, plans and objectives.
  • Evaluate the market, service and financial performance of products, solutions and services against corporate goals and prepares assessments of variances form corporate goals.
  • Participates in the development of market share, revenue and volume, cost containment and reduction, customer mail preparation and net financial contribution targets for products and services for the setting of Corporate goals and the development of the Corporate Operating Plan.
  • Develops and recommends sales contract pricing proposals for products, solutions, and services and supports Sales and Customer Service staff in the concluding of approved agreements with customers
  • Identifies current and future market opportunities and threats and prepares assessments of forecasted impacts on the Corporation’s market, service and financial goals for products, solutions, and services.
  • Assists, and monitors, with the implementation of the multi-functional plans to ensure that new products, solutions, and services are carefully launched and revenue targets achieved.
  • Prepares detailed multi-functional Corporate Product/Solutions Operating Plans and operating budgets which translate approved strategies and objectives for products, solutions, and services into the specific functional activities necessary to develop and implement the operating system, procedures and infrastructures to implement all aspects of the plan.

Job Requirements:

  • Knowledge of postal convention, regulations and agreements an asset.
  • Excellent understanding of marketing and customer data, targeting and campaign measurement
  • An appetite for technology and desire to maintain current knowledge of evolving best practices and global mobile product trends.
  • 2 to 3 years of relevant experience in digital product management and development.
  • Strong communication, analytical, customer service and presentation skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage workload and meet critical project milestones and deadlines.
  • Ability to work on multiple mini projects and work with up to 12 different types of products.
  • Strong technical acumen and understanding of the online space and web tools.
  • Completed post-secondary, preferably in a related field such as Marketing, Business Administration, Commerce, Business Analytics.
  • Proficient computer skills and competent with Microsoft Office programs, including strong PowerPoint skills (power-user).
  • In-depth knowledge of Agile process and principles, the Scrum process framework and best practices and evolving trends related to both.
  • Project management and planning experience as well as the ability to condense detailed information into executive summaries.
