Job Responsibilities: Organize and maintain legal files, contracts, and minutebooks; Draft legal documents including service agreements, non-disclosure agreements, licensing agreements, and other contacts on behalf of the Company; Keep abreast of legislative and regulatory changes that may impact the business; Ensure high standards of performance and compliance in all matters of corporate governance; Assist in assessment of high value bids and proposals, offering contractual contingencies to reduce risk and strategies to achieve opportunities; Conduct legal research into case law, and interviewing clients and witnesses; Liaise with external regulators, auditors and other legal advisers, as required; Conduct legal research in support of the delivery of legal services, including regulatory and commercial legal matters; Provide additional support to Lawyers during closing of various commercial transactions in real estate, aircraft purchase and sale, leasing, and charter; Organize and supporting internal meetings related to legal matters including taking notes and preparing short summaries; Work alongside other departments providing advice to management and Executive Team; Interested candidates should be able to perform the following duties and responsibilities: Other related duties as assigned. File documents with govt offices, regulators, and other external parties; Assist legal professionals and management with Compliance and Regulatory related items; Job Requirements: Experience in the aviation industry an asset; Ability to communicate in Inuktut a definite asset; Possess strong business acumen, ability to understand key business drivers and tailor solutions to minimize legal risk and meet business needs; Demonstrated experience managing multiple files; Knowledge of corporate and commercial law, (either CBCA or Provincial corporate legislation), experience in any of the following areas would be an asset: contract, privacy, data governance, employment, mergers and acquisitions or aviation; Minimum of 3 years experience as a paralegal, in any area of business/corporate commercial law (preferred), privacy or IP law; Three (3) years of previous experience; Ability to work independently with little or no supervision; Creative problem resolution skills; Ability to obtain and retain an Airport Restricted Area Pass in accordance with the Airport Restricted Area Access Clearance Program regulated by Transport Canada.
