Job Description:

The City of Grand Prairie Communications Department seeks a 20-39 hour-a-week to assist the Communications Department with communication, library and tourism duties.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Handle public relations, advertising, web design, social media and/or graphic arts.
  • To work with Word, Adobe InDesign and Photoshop on a MAC or PC.
  • Work Mon-Fri between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.
  • Provides customer service by providing information and directions as requested; completes routine office duties by answering phones, transferring calls and taking messages.
  • Other duties or projects as assigned

Job Requirements:

  • Must have a High School Diploma or GED and currently enrolled in an accredited university pursuing a Bachelor’s degree with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
  • Preferred some college classes in Public Relations, Journalism, Photography, website and graphic design.
  • Valid Texas Class C Driver’s License and personal vehicle for which the city pays mileage when used for city business
