These roles will be based within FNORC Leeds and are part of an exciting new unit of caseworkers and managers. You will be part of a team responsible for considering the deportation of foreign nationals who have committed criminal offences. You will manage each case through the relevant processes, taking timely and accurate action, to resolve barriers or conclude the case. This is an exciting, dynamic, and fast paced environment with new challenges being faced daily.
Job Responsibilities:
- Complete priority actions and progress cases to conclusion or deportation as quickly as possible, following relevant policy and guidance.
- Develop and maintain current knowledge of deportation legislation, policy, process and case law.
- Examine a range of complex information required to make decisions on cases in a timely manner, with an ability to explain clearly, verbally and in writing how a decision has been reached.
- Make quality, well-reasoned and timely decisions at all stages, using feedback from the Quality Assurance Framework to inform your learning and development goals.
- Draft complex pieces of work, including responses to litigation, correspondences, and requests for information. Promote and participate in a positive inclusive team culture, working collaboratively with colleagues in my team, command and across FNORC to improve performance and operational excellence.
- Ensure FNO’s released into the community are supervised in line with bail conditions with timely progression on their case to conclude or remove.
- Ensure data accuracy on all Home Office case working systems and databases.
- Actively participate in monthly performance and wellbeing check-ins, team meetings and group discussions, sharing best practice and lessons learned, taking responsibility to complete agreed action points.
- Ensure detention under immigration powers is lawful, adhering to relevant policy and guidance, while considering individual circumstances and vulnerabilities, and providing regular (no less than monthly) notification to the detained FNO.
- Be able to identify, articulate and escalate risk.
- Work collaboratively and collegiately with internal and external stakeholders.
