Job Description: Health & Safety Manager £39,000 - £44,000 (Grade E16) plus benefits Biggleswade depot We’re looking for a health and safety (H&S) manager to join the risk, health and safety (RHS) team across our Logistics division. Opening in January 2025, Biggleswade will be our flagship depot in the heart of Bedfordshire; the biggest, most sustainable and high-tech regional distribution centre in our network. Reporting into the depot general manager and working very closely with the regional risk and safety lead, you’ll play a key role in creating a culture of continuous improvement in keeping our colleagues safe. As a H&S manager, we’ll look to you to make sure we maintain high safety standards in depot, and work with cross-functional teams to help implement standardised ways of working that will protect the safety and security of our teams. Job Responsibilities: provide H&S subject matter expertise, advice and guidance across teams in the depot • work with the Biggleswade leadership team to build a best in class safety culture across the depot • support the depot general manager with the future delivery of the H&S strategy • carry out regular H&S inspections and feed back into the depot management team • review ways of working and spot opportunities to improve and deliver initiatives to reduce accidents in the depot • coach and support managers in completing accident investigations • support the training of colleagues to make sure everyone is equipped to deliver the Co-op H&S standards • work collaboratively with internal and external partners, including but not limited to, safety teams, depot teams, support functions, trade unions and enforcement agencies Job Requirements: health and safety experience, preferably in a multi-temperature logistics or distribution environment • a NEBOSH general certificate, this is essential • experience in building relationships and influencing both colleagues and senior managers • policy and continuous improvement implementation experience • the ability to analyse and interpret data to spot trends and opportunities • the ability to practically apply legislative requirements • a solid understanding of H&S principles and a passion to develop in this area • kept up to date with industry legislation and a member of IOSH would be an advantage Job Details: Company: Coop Vacancy Type: Full Time Job Location: Bristol, GB Application Deadline: N/A Apply Here Jobsvilla.net
