Job Description:

The incumbent serves as an Intelligence Officer (Transnational Organized Crime) with responsibility for producing assessments on transnational organized crime (TOC) for a geographic area of responsibility. As such, the incumbent provides all-source strategic and operational intelligence analysis on organized criminal activities that affect U.S. or allies’ military operations; organized crime financial activities and vulnerabilities, organized crime involvement in narcotics production and trafficking and other illicit activities; organized crime support for terrorists and terrorist organizations; criminal links to foreign heads of state or military leaders; state capture; personalities involved in TOC and emerging organizations and trends in TOC, to support national-level counter transnational organized crime planning, operational missions of U.S. and host-nation customers, and overseas law-enforcement operations. In conjunction with senior analysts, develops and/or recommends complex analytical approaches to problems and situations for which data are incomplete, controversial, or for which no precedent exists

Job Responsibilities:

This position is located in Crystal Park, Virginia and is with the DIRECTORATE OF ANALYSIS / AMERICAS AND TRANSREGIONAL THREATS CENTER .

This is a CDASA coded billet. Therefore, it is mandatory for employees entering this position to complete the DoD All-Source Analyst (ASA) Professional Certification Program, tier one IAW the implementing DI Instruction for CDASA.

This is a Term position NOT TO EXCEED (NTE) 3 Years. Individual may be non-competitively converted to a permanent position.

This position deploys worldwide and is not to exceed 36 months unless operational needs warrant a possible extension.

This position is responsible for performing the following duties:

Researches, reviews, edits, plans, prepares, integrates and publishes complex all-source counter transnational organized crime and counterdrug intelligence studies, plans, and/or products. Coordinates, monitors, and integrates intelligence from all available sources while ensuring timely, comprehensive and accurate responses to taskings. Develops innovative analytical approaches and validation of analytical conclusions.

Identifies intelligence gaps, specifies collection requirements to fill gaps in information, evaluates resulting intelligence collected in response to requirements and determines analytical approach.

Job Requirements:

Experience analyzing law enforcement, financial, and/or open-source data and performing complex network analysis.
Develops and proposes targeting information or network vulnerabilities for operators, federal law enforcement, and collectors.
Demonstrates excellent oral and written communication skills to compose and deliver responses to complex questions in a clear, concise, and organized manner
Engages the client on routine to complex issues to ensure their needs and those of the organization are met
Concisely/rapidly organizes, synthesizes, assesses and presents complex network analyses orally and in graphic or written formats while preserving data for historical and comparative analysis
