Job Description:
The Legal Team provides a broad range of legal advice (including Commercial, Marketing, Regulatory and Compliance) to the UK registered Charity. Dogs Trust is part of a wider group or charities including Dogs Trust Worldwide and Dogs Trust USA, which ensures that there are always interesting international considerations for the Legal Team. There are currently five qualified solicitors within the team along with Compliance, Insurance and other legal professionals.The Head of Legal Services reports to the Chief Executive Officer.
This is an important role for a Paralegal to assist the Data Protection solicitor and Head of Legal Services with providing data protection advice to the Charity. The work includes Subject Access Requests, DPIAs, handling breaches, drafting contracts and other ad hoc advice.
To be successful in this role you will have demonstrable paralegal experience, a UK Law degree (or GDL), and the ability to keep meticulous records. You will work well within the Legal Team and the wider organisation, and will be able to demonstrate the ability to make decisions and act on your own initiative where required.
