Job Description:
The Regulatory Analyst possesses some expertise, may act as a project lead, and performs analysis in support of the Board’s information collection efforts, in conjunction with the Federal Reserve System’s Statistics Function. The analyst participates in the Federal Reserve’s report review and clearance program for all data series collected for policy, regulatory, and supervisory purposes.
Job Responsibilities:
- Establishes methods and policies for data collection or analysis of economic variables relevant to the formulation and conduct of monetary and regulatory policy and financial stability.
- Processes the clearance report proposals under established procedures and standards. May participate in the development of proposals and reporting forms and instructions.
- Answers inquiries from senior staff, other agencies, and the general public about reporting issues, data content, and related topics.
- Analyzes new legislation, regulations, and polices that affect the information needs of the Federal Reserve and may recommend changes in data collection.
- Engages in efforts to ensure compliance with congressionally mandated policies, OMB policies and internal Federal Reserve Policies related to information collection and may recommend new policies.
- May make changes to reporting forms and instructions to maintain consistency, prevent overlap, and ensure they meet Federal Reserve information needs.
- Conducts training activities and creates documentation to support those activities.
- Develops own professional skills. Identifies appropriate directions for own professional development, and initiates activities to bring about that development.
Job Requirements:
Requires a strong knowledge of financial analysis, economic principles, and data analysis acquired through completion of a bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, or related fields and a minimum of 3 years of related experience or a master’s degree in a related field and 2 years of related experience.
The FR-26 is considered a subject matter expert and requires a strong knowledge of financial analysis, financial institutions and markets, economic principles, and data analysis acquired through completion of a bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, or related fields and a minimum of 4 years of related experience or a master’s degree in a related field and 3 years of related experience.
