Job Description:

This person will be utilized and trained to assume the duty of a Sr. Manager anywhere there is a need within the region. Once assignment to a terminal is made, this person will be responsible for overseeing the complete operation and maintenance of the hub/terminal facility and ensures the facility is operating to optimize safety and quality measures. Ensure proper utilization of staffing as well as involvement with the hiring process for all management personnel.

Job Responsibilities:

Is used to assist throughout the Region on any Operational Issues that the Managing Director needs assistance on in the following areas: Plan, establish, and execute business objectives to meet all operational goals for the facility. Be available to run any facility in the Region for training and transitional purposes. Responsible for assisting the integrity of all licensing and permit requirements for the facility and or Contractors. This will include any special guidelines and or procedures to ensure federal, state, and local governmental compliance. With the close guidance of the Regional staff, and through PGH Operations teams, execute line performance standards and goals, and measure, control, take corrective action and report results as appropriate. As needed Participate with the regional staff in the implementation of improvement strategies that will help the facility perform more effectively. Facilitate the smooth roll out of all corporate initiatives. Responsible for assisting the organization and direction of the day-to-day work plan for the facilities. Responsible for supporting on-time deliveries, productivity levels, safety standards and facility up keep. Lead employees by example and maintain best practices for the work environment. Including planning and organizing future levels of business Scanning Packages, coordinating shipper and customer logistics and information. Adhere to budget requirements and work towards obtaining region/division/company goals. Employee safety and accident prevention. Full regulatory compliance (OSHA, DOT, ISO 9902 certification). Keeps the facility “audit ready at all times. Helps manage employee relation’s issues and guide and directs the hiring, training, retraining, development and motivation of Contractors and employees following, team working principles with a minimum degree of guidance from the regional and corporate staff. Make sure that all training compliance and up-to-date. Reduce turnover.> Assist in the establishment of customer service standards for all accounts, communicating these standards to all personnel. Assist in the Adherence of enforcing and upholding all maintenance aspects of the Contract, develop relationships with vendors to help resolve problems serve as lesion between contractor and vendor as needed Assists in evaluating employees performance and development needs in conjunction with employee plans, to challenge their potential. Deliver at least once per year a formal performance review for each direct report Meet with facility staff as requested, to review service levels/performance and obtain feedback on issues to assist staff in running their assigned areas and help them overcome barriers and forecast upcoming needs. Hold a yearly common understanding meeting. As requested, lead safety, retention meetings Travel to other terminals on an as needed basis to assist in terminal operation. Must have ability to travel as deemed necessary by Managing Director. Ability to relocate anywhere within the region.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent years of experience
  • Middle mgmt like experience
  • Responsibilities require a working knowledge of hub operations function that generally requires years of experience Work requires considerable decisions making. Decisions made are significant and involve risk. There is somewhat limited review of decisions made by Regional staff. Establishes short-term objectives of major segments of the Organization and participates in the establishment of long-range objectives.
