Job Description:
The Senior Architect role will work within the Contact Centre platform team to achieve the strategic aims of ITID and the CCaaS platform by providing architectural expertise. The role will take direction from the Lead Architect and whilst it will have no formal line management duties, it will be expected that the role will provide guidance to the more junior members of the team and to pod leaders. The jobholder will help translate business needs into technology fulfilment. He / She will be required to work with OEMs/Vendors to evaluate, conduct POCs, focus on security needs as per HSBC policies and then introduce product in Bank’s environment.
Job Responsibilities:
- Deliver high quality solution designs for contact centre projects and contribute to broader designs where contact centre is not the lead but are supporting
- Ensure IT estate data is recorded and put plans in place with engineering leads to avoid duplication and risk due to aging technology.
- Continually improving the design approach including operational resilience and security
- Support the influencing of senior stakeholders (CIO, COO, CEOs) and business partners, building strong relationships to ensure consensus and influence change outcomes. Fosters open and honest communication which anticipates stakeholder expectations
- The jobholder is responsible for managing and mitigating operational risks in their day to day operations. In executing these responsibilities, the Group has adopted risk management and internal control structure referred to as the ‘Three Lines of Defence’. The jobholder should ensure they understand their position within the Three Lines of Defence, and act accordingly in line with operational risk policy, escalating in a timely manner where they are unsure of actions required
- Reacting to delivery challenges, maintaining product quality, systems stability and availability
Job Requirements:
- Strong interpersonal skills – good judgement, assertiveness, high level of communication skills to achieve effective stakeholder management, build consultative relationships, and ability to collaborate directly with a variety of clients (business, development, compliance, etc.)
- Proven ability to articulate complex issues concisely, suitable for all levels across the HSBC group. Gravitas and ability to interact with and coach senior team members
- Knowledge of full pipeline automation including test automation including CI/CD
- Experience of programming in Python and Java
- Knowledge of Lean Sigma practices
- Needs to be resourceful and demonstrate innovation
- Knowledge and experience of using agile delivery methods and tools to implement both tactical and strategic changes
- Commercially astute, ability to balance and assess risk vs. reward, maximising cost effectiveness and profitability for functions and/or business lines
Qualification & Experience:
- 20+ years experience working in technology
- 5+ years experience working on technology architecture
- 5+ years experience working on contact centre technologies / voice networking
