Job Responsibilities:

You will lead product design from initial research and discovery, (working with our small team of UX Researchers) through to final UI and visual design. Your contribution will be both strategic – supporting commercial goals, balancing feasibility with desirability; and hands-on, ensuring a human-centric approach guides the thinking and delivery throughout.

This role has a specific focus on our Android and iOS mobile apps. With your deep familiarity with these platforms, closely collaborating with other designers, Engineering Leads, and Product Managers within the Apps teams is critical for success. In order to make the most of the platforms, enhance the M&S brand, and complement our responsive web experience you’ll be in constant communication with the wider design team to make sure the design direction for mobile apps is part of a holistic M&S experience.

Job Requirements:

  • Plan, organise, and facilitate of workshops and collaborative design sessions to bring cross-functional teams together.
  • Customer journey mapping for the journeys of M&S customers and contributing to service design thinking.
  • Conceptualise, develop and document innovative information organisation structures, interaction designs, and navigation for digital products.
  • Create stunning interfaces that support customer needs and bring the M&S brand to life.
  • Work with the M&S brand and sub-brands to create a flowing experience between them.
  • Prototype ideas for user research and communicating with colleagues.
  • Lead the contribution to our design system to ensure coherent and accessible experiences for mobile platforms.
