You will serve as Research Scientist involved in Gravitational Wave research within the Astrophysics Branch of the Science Research and Projects Division in the Science and Technology Office.

Job Requirements:

In addition to the basic education requirement (shown below), you must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade, which has equipped you with the particular competencies needed to successfully perform the duties of the position described above. To qualify for GS-13, you must have one year of directly related specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level performing research in gravitational wave astronomy, data science, astrophysical source modeling, multimessenger astronomy, or high energy astronomy to include scientific software development for data analysis and source modeling or instrument simulation and participating in gravitational wave mission development, exploitation of gravitational wave observational data, or developing software for science analysis of high energy space missions; working with a group of individuals involved in planning and evaluating short- and/or long-term research goals and strategies to achieve them; and communicating research results in writing, to a scientific community (e.g., peer-reviewed journal citations, conference proceedings, scientific articles, etc.)
