WSP is currently initiating a search for a Resident Engineer for our New York, NY offices part of our growing PM/CM unit providing REI services for Bridge rehabilitation projects in NYC in the boroughs of Manhattan and Queens. Work may be performed on nights and weekends.
Job Responsibilities:
Manage the day to day operations of an inspection and office engineering staff
Chair progress meetings
Review and comment on construction schedules
Confirm work meets contract requirements
Coordinate construction inspection and material testing activities
Prepare daily Resident Engineer report
Preparation monthly progress reports
Manage document control process
Coordinate review and response to RFIs and submittals
Review and sign inspection reports
Review change order requests for merit
Provide independent construction estimates
Job Requirements:
- 12 years of construction management experience
- B.S. Degree is Construction Management or Engineering
- NYS PE licensure
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a team environment.
- Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures
- Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies
