Progressive Work From Home – Property Catastrophe Claims Adjuster

Job Description:

As an inside catastrophe claims adjuster on our Home & Property team, you’ll care for customers impacted by wildfires, hailstorms, tornadoes and other weather-related events. Primarily over the phone, you’ll handle coverage and damage analysis on residential property claims once you receive completed estimates. Using strong negotiation and customer service skills, you’ll ensure claims are fairly and accurately investigated for our customers. This position may require extended weekday hours and weekends during a catastrophic event.

Job Responsibilities:

• Approve and adjust estimates of damage and loss amounts
• Determine extent of company liability
• Prepare settlement letters, denial letters, Reservation of Rights, and other letters as needed
• Estimate cost of repair, replacement, or compensation
• Identify and communicate potential underwriting concerns, SIU involvement, and subrogation potential

Job Requirements:

• Instead of a degree, five years of work experience in one of the fields noted above; at least nine months of which must be in property claims handling
• Bachelor’s degree or higher and at least nine months of experience in property claims handling
• Instead of the above, an associate degree and three years of work experience within financial services, customer service, construction, property management, or related field; at least nine months of which must be in property claims handling
