Job Description:

The Finance Analyst is responsible for providing insightful financial analysis and controlling costs across our store estate. This role is instrumental in delivering value for money from the cost base and for providing analysis and challenge to influence senior leaders to make the most profitable decisions for the business.

Job Responsibilities:

• Developing close and trusted working relationships with Finance colleagues and Dept Heads providing support for decision making
• Developing a detailed knowledge of costs and drivers – use to challenge and reduce spend
• Ownership of retail mgmt. accounts and analysis of periodic variances to budget/ prior year
• Analysing and assessing progress of investments
• Alongside Dept Heads, agreeing an annual budget and update periodic forecasts – challenge assumptions, variances, and influence efficiencies
• Responsibility for partnering the business on smaller cost areas
• Working with procurement to identify and influence opportunities to improve value for money
• Streamline processes and reporting to free up time to analyse performance
• Preparation & analysis of department KPIs
• Ad hoc trading analysis to maximise delivery of profitable sales
• Establish and shape store performance targets and assess performance against these
• Analysis to influence improved store profitability ratios

Job Requirements:

• Ability to manage multiple and fast changing priorities

• Exceptional organisation skills
• Studying towards relevant accounting qualification (part qualified)
• Combine attention to detail with broader business understanding
• Confidence and tenacious appetite to identify improvement – both to performance and ways of working
• Excellent excel and modelling skills
• Excellent communication skills and strong team player
