Job Description:

The overall role of the Maintenance Training Manager is to develop, revise and teach curriculums, manage training department, oversee all record keeping as required by FARs and to schedule timely training. This role interfaces with every department, every manager, and every employee in the company.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Track and oversee scheduling of all required training, train the trainer and any new instructors.
  • Provide a monthly audit of upcoming training events to VP of Maintenance and Director of Quality.
  • Teach in-house classes such as Initial Indoc, RII, Recurrent, Aircraft Systems etc. Any training as required to meet the needs of the training department o remain in compliance with FAA, NTSB, OSHA, TSA, requirements etc.
  • Instruct maintenance and other company employees in the subject areas assigned by the VP of Maintenance and/or Director of Quality.
  • Provide departmental instruction when required on new equipment, tooling, and aircraft etc.
  • Assist with preparing for FAA audits as requested by ensuring all files are complete, up-to-date and accurate.
  • Oversee departmental curriculum development and delivery, updating and revising course material.
  • Oversee training records, documentation and compliance to FAR’s and training manual requirements.
  • Instruct maintenance personnel and other company employees in the subject areas required by FAR 121 Regulations.
  • Develop training through classroom, CBT, OJT, within a learning management system (LMS)
  • Ensure Training Manual Compliance and revise as required.
  • Ensure Compliance with FAR 121 training requirements and industry standards.

Job Requirements:

  • Experience working with training programs or in writing course material, previous FAA interaction.
  • Bachelor’s degree in aviation or a related filed of study or 4 years of equivalent aviation experience.
  • Strong understanding of aviation and the training environment and previous training background.
  • Strong understanding of managing training department, staffing and training requirements.
  • Extensive understanding of FAR 121 requirements.
  • Strong Technical abilities including competence with Microsoft Suite (PowerPoint, Word and Excel).
  • Must successfully complete required instructor training in Company Training manual.
  • Previous training experience working in the aviation industry/airline environment.
  • Experience in a 14CFR Part 1212 or 135 air carrier, or Military Aviation experience.
  • Two years of experience in a management role as a Maintenance Training Manager, Director of Maintenance, Director of Quality, Quality
  • Manager or other 14CFR Part 119 position or military equivalent.
  • Prior experience as an instructor.
  • A&P certificate
