Job Description:

ODNR owns and manages state parks, state forests, state nature preserves and wildlife areas. We license all hunting, fishing and watercraft; oversee and permit all mineral extraction, monitor dam safety, manage water resources and serve as the second largest Law Enforcement presence in the State of Ohio.
Job Responsibilities:
We are accepting applications for a Publications Editor within the Division of Parks and Watercraft, headquartered in Franklin County within the state of Ohio. Job Requirements:
- Plans and coordinates graphic, printing and editorial services for the Division of Parks and Watercraft: serves as staff writer, editor and photographer to determine content and production of informational materials;
- Develops publications and outreach strategies to meet specific educational needs and edits and revises materials prior to publication;
- Researches, writes and edits information materials (e.g., requests from field staff, National Association of State Boating Law Administrators, National Association of State Park Directors, Ohio Parks and Recreation Association, and social medial sites);
- Assists in the development of educational displays for public events (e.g., Ohio State Fair, outreach shows, outdoor festivals) and assists in the development and presentation of educational courses for internal and external audiences (e.g., employees, schools, communities and other special interest groups);
- Carries out special projects (e.g., participates in the planning and implementation of promotional outreach shows and events, the Ohio Women’s Outdoor Adventures Program, Paddle Ohio; maintains files and records of publications inventory; maintains historical library of Parks and Watercraft publications and photos for staff reference.
