Job Description:

The primary responsibilities of the Maintenance Inspector are to enforce established directives, policies, and procedures along with individual judgment and initiative, as required, to determine aircraft, engine, and aircraft appliance airworthiness. Inspectors will also exercise judgment in the approval/non-approval of completed work in accordance with established directives and Sun Country Airlines’ established maintenance and repair standards.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate with Manager Quality Assurance/Quality Control as to inspection progress and advise him/her of inspection status.
  • Monitor and control Sun Country Airlines’ tool calibration policies and procedures.
  • Accomplish periodic checks and operations on aircraft and engines, and record findings in accordance with Sun Country Airlines’ procedures.
  • Inspect all repairs, replacements, and installations on aircraft when required in accordance with the provisions of this manual.
  • Inspect incoming material, including incoming and outgoing engines for shipping damage, airworthiness certification, AD compliance and other requirements as specified by the company.
  • Perform random hangar, stock room, safety, and Layover check reviews.
  • Perform random reviews of generated paperwork checking for errors.
  • Conduct all tasks in a safe and efficient manner complying with all local, state, and federal safety and health regulatory requirements, programmatic standards, and with any internal policies and procedures identified by Sun Country Airlines.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Manager of Quality Control.

Job Requirements:

  • Ability to read and interpret airline technical manuals.
  • Sound judgment and decision-making skills.
  • 2 years 737NG jet experience
  • Must have valid driver’s license.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, mathematical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to professionally communicate with internal and external associates.
  • Engine borescope training/experience
  • 2 years line maintenance
  • Highly motivated self-starter able to perform and communicate effectively within a multitasking environment.
  • 3 years Boeing 737 Inspection experience
  • A&P license required (current & active).
  • Ability to read and interpret federal regulations.
  • Must be able to obtain an MSP SIDA badge and Customs Seal.
