Job Description:
At Swoop, the Financial Analyst role is an integral part of our business and success. This individual will be tasked to aid in the implementation of efficient processes and strong internal controls to ensure continual strategic growth for Swoop. You will be reporting to the Leader of Finance who will leverage your accounting knowledge and analytical insights on our current and future commercial, operational, and strategic initiatives. In this role, you will have a direct influence across Swoop’s entire business, as you will be collaborating with various departments and Swoop’s leadership team.

Job Responsibilities:
- Advise key stakeholders on Enterprise and Commercial accounting implications for future Enterprise and Commercial projects and provide sound revenue recognition processes as a solution
- Key finance support to Swoop’s business departments
- Support Swoop’s ultra-low-cost culture by ensuring that business partners remain accountable to cost performance by providing them meaningful financial reporting and insights
- Meet with key Swoop leaders/other relevant groups and in partnership build forecast and budgeting models to estimate future costs
- Generate and present monthly reporting information to senior leadership which includes revenue and expense variance analysis vs. prior period, budget, and forecast in addition to ad hoc requests
- Develop a detailed knowledge of the Enterprise and Commercial accounting system by participating in the implementation and ongoing maintenance of the system
- Investigate variances to expectation and provide detailed explanations to Management
- Track and analyze key performance indicators
- Completing balance sheet reconciliations and investigating any anomalies to expectation
- Research accounting issues and document accounting policy on a periodic basis
- Manage the accurate month-end Enterprise and Commercial close process which includes posting sales and Enterprise and Commercial transactions into the general ledger
- Posting monthly accruals and other journal entries, as required
Job Requirements:
- Confident in presenting financial information to senior levels of management
- Attention to detail, organized and thorough, with a desire for continuous improvement
- Ability to quickly analyze business results, identify and clearly summarize key issues
- Experience with financial analysis and modelling, including sensitivity and scenario analysis
- Minimum +4 years of progressive experience in accounting and/or financial analysis roles
- Ideally with airline Enterprise and Commercial accounting experience
- Possess strong communication skills to provide guidance and/or instruction to peers in the organization
- Works independently, displaying an intellectual curiosity that can create process efficiencies and drive improvements for the team
- Willingness and a passion for “Wearing multiple hats” and doing what needs to be done to support the team
- Excel proficiency and a keen interest in learning new technology such as pivot tables, Power BI, Oracle EPM (Hyperion), etc.
- Experience with and ability to distill large data sets in order to determine relevant information needs
- Highly motivated, energetic and goal-oriented with the ability to work in a fast paced, team environment
