Job Description:
At Swoop, the Senior Advisor, Business Planning & Projects role blends project leadership and execution with strategic thinking and business analysis to support end-to-end delivery or projects across inter-departmental work groups. You will report to the Leader of Network & Business Planning who will leverage your ability to focus on both strategy and execution. In this role, you will have a direct influence across Swoop’s entire business. Your primary responsibility will be to spearhead the development, management, and execution of Swoop’s project management function.
Job Responsibilities:
- Establish, manage, and continually assess a portfolio of strategic projects and ensure alignment with corporate strategic goals
- Lead Swoop’s Project Management function
- Develop project management standards across the organization and ensure adherence
- Support the Leader, Network & Business Planning in conducting analysis, evaluation, and management of Swoop’s long-term growth plans, fleet requirements, and operational optimization
- Author and deliver high-impact presentations and plans for stakeholders including Executive and / or Board of Directors
- Develop complex financial and strategic analysis to support decisions on major strategic and tactical initiatives to grow revenue and / or reduce costs
- Mentor other team members within the project team(s) with applying project management methodologies and Swoop tools and standards to their projects, as required.
Job Requirements:
- Proven organizational skills and ability to manage multiple simultaneous projects with tight deadlines
- Well-rounded inter-personal skill set with the capacity to build strong, effective working relationships.
- Demonstrated ability to conduct detailed financial and strategic analysis, drawing out implications and recommendations
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience in project management, corporate development & planning, strategic planning, and financial analysis
- Completed a post-graduate degree, diploma or certificate in related field.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, demonstrated through effective meeting facilitation, business documentation, presentations, and active listening
- Clear and concise communicator, an effective presenter, and facilitator
- Intermediate to advanced skills using MS Project, PowerPoint, Excel, Word and Visio
- Demonstrated experience leading medium to large multi-phased projects in a business environment as a Project Manager
- Experience working in a Project Management Office is required with a strong preference for an individual who has prior experienced establishing a Project Management function
- Highly self-motivated and willing to proactively take on leadership roles within project teams; willing to go the extra mile to support the team
