This position is located in Refugee and International Operations

As an Adjudication Officer you will interpret, apply and enforce an intricate field of Immigration and Nationality laws to make determinations on requests for urgent humanitarian or significant public benefit parole.

Job Responsibilities:

  • The responsibilities described are for the GS-12 level. At developmental grade levels, assignments will be of more limited scope performed with less independence, and limited complexity.
  • Interpret, apply, and enforce an intricate field of Immigration and Nationality laws to mate determinations on requests for urgent humanitarian or significant public benefit parole.
  • Interpret, apply, and enforce the Immigration and Nationality Act; and conduct independent research in the adjudication process.
  • Plan and conduct independent research concerning the eligibility entitlements of persons seeking immigration benefits under the Immigration and Nationality Act.
  • Review and make determinations on parole cases.
  • Establish effective working relationships and communicate orally and in writing with internal and external Department of Homeland Security (DHS) customers.

Job Requirements:

  • You must be a U.S. Citizen or U.S. National to apply for this position
  • Successfully pass a Background Investigation including financial disclosure
  • You must pass a drug screening
  • You must submit resume and supporting documentation
  • Males born after 12/31/1959 must be registered with the Selective Service
  • Political appointees may require OPM approval before on-boarding
