Job Description:
This position is changed with the cleanliness of the facility and includes high dusting, damp dusting, dust mopping, wet and dry mopping, vacuuming and carpet cleaning, floor stripping and refinishing, waste handling.
Job Requirements:
- Observe all aspects of resident safety at all times
- Ability to learn and apply proper body mechanics, being able to bend, stoop, kneel, stretch over and under furnishings and building fixtures
- Demonstrated ability to communicate in English; both orally and in writing
- Minimum of one year experience as a housekeeping cleaner in an institutional, commercial or healthcare facility will be considered. Training will be provided.
- Grade 12 or equivalent
- Ability to work from and climb stepladders
- Maintain a high standard of service and cleanliness
- Working knowledge of applicable sanitation and safety standards related to the department.
- Good physical and mental health to meet the position demands
