Job Description: Plan and conduct surveillance and management self-assessments of industrial and construction processes Perform construction, maintenance, and facility safety inspections as assigned Attend pre-bid/pre-construction meetings Review/approve contractor safety documentation Conduct Pre-Hazard Analysis walk downs of proposed construction projects Involve Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) when necessary during construction operations Conduct hazard briefings on construction and industrial safety topics Participate in readiness verifications and assessments for facilities and operations and prepares written reports of findings and recommendations Review applicable regulations and maintain written work procedures to ensure compliance Develop, implement, and maintain industrial safety programs Conduct accident investigations involving personnel/vehicle/property events Participate in worker involvement including input to work planning and methods to identify hazards and controls Job Responsibilities: Meaningful work and unique opportunities to support missions vital to national and global security Top-notch, dedicated colleagues Generous pay and benefits with a stable organization Career advancement and professional development programs Work-life balance fostered through flexible work options and wellness initiatives Job Requirements: Bachelors degree in Industrial Safety, Engineering or another related scientific discipline Eight or more years of relevant education may be considered to satisfy educational and years-of-experience requirements for this posting In addition, the applicant must meet the requirements of DOE O 426.2 (i.e., Baccalaureate in engineering or related science, 2 years job-related and at least 1 year nuclear experience, or a DOE O 426.2 alternative). DOE 426.2 experience requirements can be satisfied following employment. In the interim, newly hired personnel will not be assigned duties that could impact the safety basis of nuclear facilities.
