Job Responsibilities:

• As an Underwriting Service Team Leader, you will successfully lead a team of underwriters so they can unlock their brilliant selves to deliver high quality lending decisions and deliver a great experience to our customers and brokers.
• You will be expected to provide direction and guidance to enable your team to make strong decisions and deliver great customer experiences and lending outcomes. In order for individuals to do this, you will be responsible for the ongoing coaching and development within your team that allows them to grow within the organisation.
• If you are successful in this role, you will maximise operational efficiencies by continually challenging the processes within the department to drive better customer and colleague experiences. This will encourage you to take ownership of customer failure and take the opportunity to review feedback and support the team to improve processes.
• In this role, you will confidently communicate your expectations, group strategies and the overall purpose of the Underwriting team in a way that colleagues will feel valued and can understand their link to how they make a difference.

Job Requirements:

• Proven experience of leading and developing high performing teams in a regulated environment.
• Ability to convert strategic priorities and goals into operational plans
• Knowledge of relevant legislation, compliance, corporate governance, quality assurance and risk management
• Experience of managing a set of internal and external stakeholder relationships
• Ideal but not essential, experience of Mortgage Underwriting.

Qualification & Experience:

• Experience of delivering great customer outcomes in a regulated environment.
