Job Description:
Safely handle, operate and maneuver various trucks and trailers in our yard to reposition as needed. Move trailers to designated dock(s) for loading and unloading as directed by the leadership team. Safely operate any assigned powered industrial trucks (PIT) such as forklifts, stand up order picker/cherry picker as well as powered equipment to move product around the distribution center.
Job Responsibilities:
- Operate vehicles in a safe manner, by following all safety rules and demonstrating professional command of the equipment
- Accurately record production by task and complete any necessary paperwork
- Work safely and maintain a clean work environment
- Ability to work overtime as needed
- Inspect equipment and verify/report damage or concerns
- Utilize powered equipment, pick and put away product efficiently and accurately, as assigned by supervisor
- Follow all standard operating procedures (SOPs)
- Flexibility to train and work in multiple areas
- Identify and communicate exceptions to the leadership team
- Some familiarity with computers with the ability to run and print basic reports
Job Requirements:
- Six (6) months previous experience operating forklifts
- Ability to communicate both verbally and written in English
- Basic math skills
- High school diploma or equivalent
- At least three (3) months experience operating a yard truck and/or spotting trailers in a fast-paced environment
- Experience operating tractor trailers
- Good communication skills
- Ability to attain an adidas certification to safely operate any assigned powered equipment, including but not limited to: order picker, turret truck, reach truck, powered pallet jack and sit-down forklift
- Required to speak, read, write and comprehend the English language
