Job Description: Under general direction of the IT Chief Information Officer, the purpose of this position is to provide a technical leadership, and subject matter expert role in implementing, administering and maintaining City IT infrastructure resources including on premise and cloud services to support City business operations. Plays a key role in implementing, managing, troubleshooting and monitoring data center operations including server, storage and network systems, operating systems, virtualization, cloud, security and endpoint protection. This person serves as a lead to other employees in the support of systems operations as well as advanced network and desktop computer support with a focus on customer support. Job Responsibilities: Plan, design, monitor, upgrade and troubleshoot server and storage systems (working knowledge of vCenter/VMware or hyper-converged systems (VxRail), physical servers, cloud-based systems and network storage and SAN systems such as Dell/EMC) VMware support for enterprise level configurations including understanding of VMware clusters, vMotion, DRS automation, SRM, reporting and related functions Design, support and monitor server backup systems (veeam) and support disaster recovery procedures. Install, maintain and troubleshoot servers running Microsoft Server 2019, 2016 or 2012 Operating systems as well as Microsoft SQL Server Strong knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory, DNS, DHCP and Group Policy configuration Support for Microsoft messaging systems (Exchange 2016 or Office 365) as well as familiarity with PowerShell and advanced Outlook configuration Solid knowledge of LAN/WAN protocols and troubleshooting skills related to network connectivity of devices Configure, monitor and troubleshoot network and server security systems (anti-virus, malware, spyware, web-filter and spam filter hardware and applications) Technical lead on client and infrastructure services projects and application integration that follows established project management methodology and processes Job Requirements: Bachelor's degree with emphasis on Information Technology or Computer Science preferred. 3-plus years prior experience with increasing responsibility in the area of Client/Server, Network administration (relevant experience and certification may substitute for degree requirements on year for year basis) Valid Texas Class C driver license Ability to pass background investigation and drug test for CJIS compliance Good problem solving and remediation skills Ability to work well independently and as part of a team with minimal supervision Strong customer service skills and the ability to multitask Good oral, written and documentation skills Ability to support and mentor junior staff and communicate with end-users on a daily basis Able to be on-call on a rotational basis Previous experience in a Help Desk environment and associated ticketing software Job Details: Company: City of Grand Prairie Vacancy Type: Full Time Job Location: Grand Prairie, TX, US Application Deadline: N/A Apply Here Jobsvilla.net
