The Community & Library Services Department is searching for one (1) part-time College Intern to assist with the City’s marketing and programming efforts across multiple platforms including social media and print.

Job Responsibilities:

As part of the Department Marketing Team, assist with a variety of marketing projects including, but not limited to:
Develop a marketing schedule and content calendar,
Make recommendations for content to promote Department and City initiatives,
Assist in the development and execution of a Department-wide marketing plan,
Create marketing material including social media posts, print advertisements, and other promotional material, and
Research and compile City events and activities to post to online calendars and suggest post content for the City’s social media sites.
Maintain the SANDS Production Schedule.
Gather content for the SANDS magazine, and monitor email marketing efforts (department newsletters, emails, social media posts, etc.) for Community & Library Services Programs.
Edit websites, activity guides, and other marketing collateral for clarity and City style.
Provide administrative support to the Contract Class Program by helping with registrations, reporting, instructor badges and correspondence, and marketing.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

Business English, spelling and grammar; modern office practices, procedures and equipment; personal computer operations; Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Word and Excel; basic math principles; effective public relations/customer service principles, practices and techniques.

Utilize general office equipment such as telephone, fax, printers, copiers, and computers; learn and apply City policies, procedures, rules and regulations; conduct basic research, research, compile and analyze data and prepare accurate reports and correspondence; reason logically, draw valid conclusions and make appropriate recommendations; maintain work effectiveness and meet deadlines with frequent changes in workload and the priority of assignments; understand and carry out oral and written instructions; communicate clearly and concisely, orally and in writing; establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with those contacted in the course of work; provide quality customer service.

High School Diploma (or GED) and current enrollment in junior or senior college level courses at an accredited college or university in Communications, Marketing, Public Administration, or a related field.
