Job Responsibilities:

• Performs safety sensitive tractor repairs with some degree of Trainer or Foreman assistance depending on tech’s experience
• Performs preventative and predictive repair maintenance as assigned
• Performs basic welding
• Performs state inspections
• Must be able to work in a team environment
• Performs basic to mid-range diagnostics and troubleshooting
• May work with others in an apprentice style environment
• Performs basic repairs, preventative maintenance and replacements in his/her specific classification
• Troubleshoots and repairs basic electrical system, engine operation, trans/differential operation, air conditioning, and cooling system
• Assists in: Basic welding, repair and brake system, repairs and replaces or adjusts clutch
• Performs all responsibilities of Associate Diesel Technician

Job Requirements:

• Must be able to climb and work from a ladder
• Must be able to obtain state inspection DOT certification within 1 year
• Must obtain and hold OEM certification in: Brakes, Suspension, Electrical, HVAC, Welding and TIA
• Complete TMT training
• Be familiar with general preventative maintenance and safety procedures
• A general mechanical aptitude or experience as a tractor mechanic
• Must be computer proficient
• Ability to obtain a valid Texas Commercial Drivers License within 6 months
• Must be able to work with hands over head
• 2+ years of trade school or
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Familiar with general preventative maintenance and safety procedures
• Must meet HEB driving qualifications
• 1+ years of mechanical experience
• A skilled level of welding preferred
• Ability to read schematic diagrams
• Must have knowledge of all shop safety requirements
• Must be able to work sitting, standing, stooping, bending, or in a prone position
• Must possess minimum expected tool set
