The Manufacturing Applications Branch at Langley Research Center is seeking a skilled individual to serve as a Branch Head providing leadership in the integration of fabrication and metal applications technology to the agency’s manufacturing capability.

Job Requirements:

In addition to the basic education requirement (shown below), you must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade, which has equipped you with the particular competencies needed to successfully perform the duties of the position described above. To qualify for GS-15, you must have one year of directly related specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 level: providing engineering leadership, advice and guidance on the planning and implementation strategy for a hardware manufacturing work unit; leading multiple technician trades working in high-energy, complex multi-axis computer-controlled machining centers that represent significant hazards both to people and property; developing project cost estimates for flight hardware labor and materials; ensuring facility operation/maintenance of mechanical systems are within specification and calibration; leveraging manufacturing encompassing metals, composites, and additive manufacturing for development of complex prototypes, test articles, and flight hardware.
