Job Description:

This position is located at Department of Housing and Urban Development, Asst Secretary for Housing-Federal Housing Commissioner.

Job Responsibilities:

Direct the application of policy and procedural instructions issued to the branch from the Branch Chief or Program Director, including provision of FHA Handbooks, manuals and operations methods and procedures within the branch to conform to Department requirements and local real estate laws and practices.
Interpret HUD regulations and administrative instructions and provide guidance to the staffs of HUD Home Ownership Centers (HOC), field offices and lending institutions in all phases of the administration of HUD’s Single Family Loan Servicing and Loss Mitigation programs.
Provide information to HOC staff, field office personnel and lending institutions in working out solutions to unusual problems or negotiating the resolution of differing interpretations. Contacts may be in person, by telephone or in written correspondence and may include HUD management staff, lenders, servicers, public sector entities and so on.

Job Requirements:

Specialized experience for the GS-12 is defined as one year of experience at the GS-11 level, or equivalent that is directly related to the position and which has equipped the candidate with the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position.Specialized experience is defined as performing duties which include:

– Mortgage loan delinquent servicing to include foreclosure processing, property conveyance, and loss mitigation policies, procedures, and processes in a mortgage company, bank, or financial institution;
– Assisting with the modification of existing policies and practices regarding loss mitigation;
– Advising senior management on risk-related issues and practices;
– Researching and assisting with the modification of existing policies and practices regarding single family mortgages.
