Job Description:

The EIM Advisor reports to a Senior Advisor and has the following responsibilities: Coordinating and progressing activities of multi-disciplinary committees, work groups and task forces. Developing and maintaining collaborative working relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Issue and resolution tracking, documentation, communication. Acting as an advisory resource, providing evidence-based decision support and advice. Developing, monitoring, and revising EIM Program communication resources, educational materials. Development and maintenance of collaborative workspaces (e.g. SharePoint). More specifically, this position is being filled to support the following ongoing work while acting as a general resource within the EIM team. Provide advisory support to Data Quality Steering Committee prioritized work. Provide assistance with ongoing Master Data Management priorities. Identify, document and support requirements that facilitate metadata management solutions.

Job Requirements:

  • The successful candidate will have established skills in the following areas: Organizing and analyzing data and information to support strategic priorities and set goals. Understanding database software, design principles and functions. Learning about data, data definitions, sources and program guidelines. Writing reports and queries using data management tools. Verbal and written communication and a collaborative approach to problem solving. Presenting complex information to others in a meaningful way. Establishing a strategic approach and working towards enterprise goals.
  • A minimum of a university degree in a health discipline, health informatics, information management, computer science, business analysis or closely related field. A minimum of 5-7 years’ experience in records management, data and information management, library science, information privacy, standards development, research or health informatics, or data and information governance in an organization of significant size, scope, complexity (healthcare experience an asset). Demonstrated understanding of the principles and components that comprise an Enterprise Information Management program. Facilitation experience liaising and consultation with multiple and diverse stakeholders and interest groups. Commitment to innovation in service delivery and continuous improvement. Demonstrated ability to facilitate change. Technical skills for using and configuring collaboration tools (eg. Sharepoint, JIRA, Service now). Equivalencies of education and experience will be considered.
  • Demonstrated understanding in the following areas of information management: Master Data Management, Information Stewardship, Data Asset Management, Information Lifecycle Management, Information Governance. Familiarity with Clinical Information Systems. Facilitation and/or coordination experience in project planning, execution, reporting, monitoring and evaluation. Demonstrated knowledge and experience with leveraging provincial, national and international standards.
